Harissa is the North African spice preparation! Harissa is available in many different versions nowadays, such as rose harissa, mild harissa, etc. With us you get the original harissa as it is now known not only in Africa but also in the Arab countries and in Europe. Harissa is piquant to hot due to its chili content and is then wonderfully refined with oriental spices such as cumin and flavored with a light touch of garlic.

Harissa is used as a spice mix for soups, rice dishes, pasta and sauces. It can also be used on pizza or with couscous.

Tips & Tricks:

In Tunisia it is a common seasoning and is used even for breakfast. 

A harissa date dip is great; chop up a handful of dates, add 3 tsp of harissa, 200g of cream cheese and a small splash of mineral water. Mix everything together and leave to steep for 10 minutes. The sweetness of the date then harmonizes really well with the spicy harissa.
