Lovage also known as “Maggikraut” is a very old spice. It was already known in ancient Rome. Today it is used almost exclusively in Europe. Fresh or dried leaves are used for flavoring. The aroma is intensely spicy, strong and reminiscent of celery. Dose discreetly! It is ideal for hearty dishes such as soups, stocks, stews and fillings. The smell is strongly reminiscent of the Maggi spice. It has the property of emphasizing the taste of other foods and can be used as a substitute for salt.
